Management of Hardware including:
• Configure and maintain switches and routers & Data Cabling
• Troubleshooting of mid range servers
Monitoring and Maintenance including:
• Developing technical design documentation of new LAN/WAN connectivity based on common design standards.
• Regular H/W monitoring and maintenance on both local and remote Server and client Web, Data, File servers
• Designing remote network modifications as needed.
• Updating all network design documentation for each project worked, ensuring accuracy - Backup Configuration and disaster recovery
• Patch Management and Testing, OS hardening
• Produce regular reports for management, to assist in cost recovery, server capacity planning and consolidation
• Providing updates of each implementation and cause/risk for success or failure.
Supporting Users and troubleshooting common network & computer problems including:
• Respond to support questions or provide direction/guidance/Training to staff.
• Resolving technical problems within the facility through use of a ticket system and effectively communication
• Create and administer clear, concise documentation to lower the possibility of a repeat problem
• Participate in scheduled and on-call off-hours service requests as well as outages.
Escalation Management
• May participate in efforts to validate current network configurations against newly developed standards.
• Acquire Advanced, in-depth knowledge of network hardware and software, as well as, network design topologies and protocols.
Knowledge Gaining
Experience with Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 (including Active Directory, Exchange, IIS)
• Knowledge of Routers, Firewalls, load balancers, managed switches, structured LAN system, network printers
• Holds a basic understanding of core Internet technologies (IIS / PHP / Coldfusion / .NET / DNS, mail transport, TCP/IP and network file systems)
• Knowledge of HVAC and power requirements
